Attached is the GCP 2026 Claim form. **Please note Strychnine Poison does not qualify for this program

Strychnine is now available to purchase through the R.M. of Arlington No. 79. See below the mandatory steps. Contact the office with any questions you may have.

Through Saskatchewan’s Strychnine Stewardship Program, eligible producers can take the following steps to access strychnine for responsible control of Richardson’s ground squirrels.

1. Complete online training

2. Submit a mandatory Treatment Plan and Declaration Form

3. Purchase through your RM

4. Apply during recommended windows (March 1 to June 15 and July 15 to September 1)

5. Complete the Product Evaluation Form

STRYCHNINE TRAINING REQUIREMENT – IMPORTANT NOTICE 

The Province has introduced a new program for the purchase and use of strychnine for rodent control.

 Training is REQUIRED to purchase strychnine 

Training Dates:
May 4 to August 1, 2026

All farmers and producers must complete the required training during this period in order to be eligible to purchase strychnine.

 What this means:
• You must be trained and certified before purchasing
• Proof of certification will be required at the time of sale

 For our office:
• We are not permitted to sell strychnine to anyone who has not completed the required training
• Certification must be verified before purchase
